Windsurf'n Daddy

Medical school started up two weeks ago. As if returning to school wasn't depressing enough, they had to go and remind us that we may never have another long summer lik
e that again. I would hardly call two months a "long summer."

But we made the most of it. And I even got to do
some windsurfing while we were out in California. It wasn't quite like it used to be...

...those were the days. Just me and my board skimming across the water.

Here's how windsuring works when you have a wife and two babies on the shore:

"It's beautiful out here!"

"Uh-oh, I've been out for five minutes. Better head back..."

"Hi honey, need some help with the children or can I go back out one more time?"

"Sure, go ahead. But just so you know, your daughter needs some more sunscreen and a diaper change. And we probably should start thinking about going back soon because she'll need a nap too.

"Hey, but didn't you see me out there? The way I went 'sha-whooooosh!'?"

"Oh yeah, sweetie. That was just great. Hey, can you go get my sunglasses from the car? You are just so amazing."

"Hmph."
