The girls are totally winning here in the Taylor Family. Brian denies being disappointed, but trust me, he was downright embarrassing when the ultrasound tech announced that we are going to have another precious daughter. He was that way with Rivers' ultrasound as well. He says he's not disappointed, he was just really hopeful that we would have another boy. In his defense, he loves playing with his basketball-dribbling, block-tower-destroying, rock-throwing manly little 18 month old, and I think he was really hoping for another little manly playmate for his son. Poor Sidon is doomed to play with fairy wands for a while yet. Also, Brian did have several sweet things to say, like what a cute profile our newest daughter has. Brian adores his daughters, and the third will be no exception I'm sure. There were just A LOT of sighs and oh-mans and other such less-than-thrilled noises coming from his direction. He said he was going to get gray hair over having all these daughters. He's already had some silver hairs showing up for a while now, so I just don't think it's a big deal.
We took the girls to the ultrasound. Brian said that if the baby was a boy we could go get ice cream. Cumorah agreed with him, but little Rivers said that if the baby was a girl we could go get ice cream. Win, win situation. We went and got ice cream. Sidon stayed at home napping and then playing at Grandmommy's.
We are very blessed to be having our fourth child. I am getting close to 19 weeks. The baby measured as being due on October 15th (Grandma Taylor's birthday) instead of the 14th. And it is super fun that Auntie Amy and Uncle Jared are expecting Ruby Lu to arrive on October 1st. Though I suppose that this kind of ruins Grandpa Hulbert's birthday month. And it is super exciting to think that Auntie Lora and Uncle John are expecting another baby to join their family at any time this year, that is what we are all hoping and praying for. And since this time Amy and I are having girls, I think it means Lora can expect a boy. :)
Daughter #3 (it's strange to not have a name for her yet) was very very wiggly, but she stayed still long enough to get this cute little profile. You can see her finger tips at the top, her little thumb below and then the four little fingers in a row. I love ultrasounds, it is amazing to see the tiny little creature growing inside me wiggle around on the computer screen. I love it when you can see the little feet and hands and the little folded legs suddenly kick or the little fluttering heart beat. For some reason it suddenly makes the pregnancy and the idea of a new baby seem more real. The movement I feel is getting stronger. The nausea went away around week 15, so now I'm doing just peachy-keen. I'm very happy.
I'll post a name when we have one. I think choosing the name is going to be a long and painful process. Brian wants to name her Sophronia. I really did try to like it, but I just can't do it, something about the phro part I think. Originally, our third girl was going to be Noah, but as Cumorah points out, it's kind of boyish. But I've grown to like the idea. I had suggested it as a possible boy name, but Brian preferred it for a girl because he had known a little toddler girl named Noah while he was on his mission. I think it should be Noa, but Brian says Noah. So we're not even in agreement on the name we might possibly agree on. I'm sure that sometime before we leave the hospital after she's born we'll have a name for her.
