match

For those of you dying to know...

Yes, we did match yesterday and we are going to be living in St. Joseph, Michigan for the next four years while Brian is an emergency medicine resident at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.  We couldn't be more happy, besides the fact that it is VERY far away from our families.  Our parents are already in mourning for their grandchildren.  St. Joseph was our first choice though we did dream of Arizona and the convenient 10 hour drive home.  For many different reasons it is probably for the best that Arizona wasn't going to work out.  Brian really believes that he is going to enjoy the program and we know that we are going to enjoy the community immensely.  I was able to visit St. Joseph just this last fall and I immediately fell in love, despite the snow that fell while I was there.

We can't believe how close to graduation we are and we're really looking forward to seeing all of our dear friends when we're all gathered back in Des Moines to celebrate.

PS  Some may recall that I've been saying for a few years now, "Anywhere but Michigan."  I should have known better.  That is usually how my life works.

This is what I was thinking about when I wanted anywhere but Michigan...

iheartu

This is as good as it gets people.  Before Cumorah refuses to cooperate in the slightest tiniest way.  Before Sidon starts throwing a tantrum (and during his uptake to throw his sign to the floor).  And before Rivers processes the request to hold the letter in front of her tummy instead of over her head.

Happy Valentine's Day!  Loves and kisses to all our family and friends.  And extra slobbery kisses and big squeezes for Auntie Crystal.
